Identifying & developing celebrity investor interest

Whilst connecting with traditional investors, Move78 also developed a celebrity ambassador / investor strategy. The alignment of values between talent and brand was incredibly important when looking for this role and authenticity was paramount to success. An ambassador would help Ivy Farm to educate the masses on the relatively unknown field of cultivated meat, and the incredible effects on the environment this change could have. We targeted A list talent that are highly respected in this space.

Ivy Farm Technologies is an Oxford University spinout founded in 2019. They developed a novel cell technology that allows them to grow real meat that is free from slaughter and free from antibiotics. With a fantastic team of bioengineers, scientists, environmentalists and animal lovers, Ivy Farm aims to produce sustainable guilt-free meat by 2023, thus becoming the first commercial provider of cultivated meat in the UK. This is big news for animals, people, and the world. At Move78, we believe in big ideas, especially the ones that benefit our planet. As an ambitious team, we support innovative businesses who are working hard to deliver positive change in their field.

Ivy Farm partnered with Move78 to tap into our expertise in new venture and product acceleration. We highlighted the business’ unique value proposition, helping them raise over £16 million to build a pilot R&D facility and hire top tier talent. Furthermore, Move78 provided strategic advice around high profile events including COP26, an activation that saw influencer Poppy Cooks become the first person to cook a cultivated sausage live on stage, showing how ambassadors can really elevate the reach of an event. With this in mind, Move78 supported Ivy Farm in their celebrity investor outreach project to find influential ambassadors aligned with the business’ mission. Our combined efforts with this venture have led Ivy Farm to a predicted valuation of over £150 million, and more importantly a step closer to achieving their dream of a future of guilt-free meat.
