Boson Protocol Summer of Phygitals

Times Square takeover

With the help of Move78, in summer 2022 Boson Protocol launched Summer of Phygitals. We created and developed a campaign film that perfectly translated the in-game environment that the Boson audience would experience. To launch the new world, we took to Times Square, this time taking over with 13 billboards lighting up New York.

Challenges

Approach

Design concepting and development

After creating a design that truly reflected the nature of the Summer of Phygitals, we then put our motion graphics designers to the test. Although our takeover was impressive in size, we wanted to ensure the campaign stood out further by introducing subtle movement into the design and developed the creative further for One Times Square. The inclusion of QR codes allowed us the data capture needed to expand on engagement.

Approach

Digital and physical collide

The Summer of Phygitals saw the launch of digital and physical events, spanning both the Metaverse and the Universe. Events included music gigs, fashion, treasure hunts and art exhibitions to name a few.

Approach
Results

With over 360,000 visitors to Times Square per day, the campaign reached the masses. This was cemented by website traffic and the in-game participation.

Developing the brand in tandem with the product.

Move78 focussed on taking customer feedback, and adopting a pragmatic approach to implementation. In practice that means more UI toolkits, Figma templates, and actionable recommendations.
